Privacy policy

1. In short

You use Syöte without an account. Your location and your Syöte days stay on your phone, and the app has no advertising of its own, no analytics and no tracking.

2. Controller

3. What data is processed

• On your phone: your location if you allow it (your position on the map, your coordinates in the safety view and recognising Syöte days), your Syöte days, settings and the latest fetched information. They do not leave your phone.
• The app's server: requests for slope, weather, event and news information show your phone's IP address and the app and operating system version. The server is run for us by our processor Vercel Inc., and its logs are deleted within a day.
• Images directly from their sources: road camera images from Fintraffic and the image of a live slope camera stream from YouTube (Google). The source sees your IP address, as when loading an image on any web page.
• Slope camera stream: the app uses YouTube API Services. When you press Play, YouTube's player loads from YouTube, which may use cookies and show ads. The cookies are removed when you close the stream. Google's Privacy Policy applies to YouTube's processing.
• Links: the web shop and other sites open in the app's browser, and the site's owner is responsible for its data.

4. Retention and deletion

You can delete your Syöte days in the app (Days → Delete day history) and all of the app's data by deleting the app. Server logs are deleted within a day.

5. Legal basis and transfers

Using your location is based on the permission you give, which you can withdraw in your phone's settings. Processing server requests is based on our legitimate interest in delivering the information you ask for and keeping the service working and secure. Vercel is a US company; transfers are based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

6. Website and contact

This website uses no cookies and no analytics, and its pages are served by Vercel Inc. If you email us, we process your address and message to reply, and messages are kept for 12 months.

7. Your rights

You have the right to information about the processing and to ask for rectification or erasure and to object to processing: dev@venues.fi. You may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman, tietosuoja.fi.

8. Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page is updated.
